'It's Kind of A Funny Story' tells the tale of a sixteen year old depressive named Craig. Craig, played by Keir Gilchrist, is, as he puts it, going through a rough time. He is unable to control the stress and pressures of every day life, resulting in crippling fear and an unfortunate habit of vomiting when his negative thoughts get the best of him. He starts thinking about killing himself more seriously than ever before, and checks into a psychiatric hospital for fear of what he may do to himself. There he meets patients, doctors and nurses who begin to help him get a better grasp on himself and on the state of mental health in general.
Zach Galifianakis turns in a great performance as Bobby, a troubled patient at the hospital.
The film is based on the novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini.
